My Adventures in Bali!

It's been a week since I came back from Bali and I am STILL having the 'missing my holiday' syndrome!

I don't wanna come back! Honestly....

So Bali was so so so so fun! And I would say we three girls are quite lucky. We met a good driver, had a somewhat awesome villa(although it's not very easily accessible), managed to catch the sunset at beaches and getting really good prices off the activities that we do!

We also had our so called lucky numbers when we were in Bali. The number 20 and 35.. These numbers are from the travelling time we take from one place to another and the prices of the activities that we do.

And all in all, we spent around 800SGD only!

So here is a breakdown of my 6 days 5 nights Bali Adventure worth 800SGD!

So we left on the 31st evening and we reached about 7 plus. Met our friendly and funny driver who made the whole trip so much more fun!

We had to travel about 40mins to our villa.. which really wasn't east yo find. On the way we went to pick up shampoo and soap at the supermarket as we only had carry on and not checked in luggage therefore we did not pack much liquid stuff. We also bought some snacks thinking that it's quite late and we are afraid we might not be able to get dinner.

However, we still did managed to take away pizza from Dominos that was about 15 mins away from where we stayed.

Dominos in Bali is so cheap as compared to Singapore. One pizza, a chocolate bread and wedges cost about 10.90SGD for this whole set. And we were quite full after that!

And back to the villa, although it was not easy to locate, however, one good thing is that it is in a very quiet and peaceful area and it was a really nice getaway from the busy world outside. Just maybe too many lizards(which I hated alot) because the living room is an open concept so it's just kinda beside the swimming pool with all the trees and plants surrounding it. There were two rooms, I assume one is the main bedroom and the other is the sub because one was obviously way bigger than the other. Even the toilet was way bigger. And so as we would, the three of us slept in the same room for all nights. And the big room had more than enough space for all three of us. The bed was big, the toilet was big and even the space was big. So big we could dance inside! Everything else was okay.. enough to make it feel like home(also one of the reasons why I didn't want to leave Bali).

and we arrived at the villa about 10 plus after getting all the stuff we needed. We showered after eating and by the time we prepared for bed, we were only left with an hours rest to the start of the adventures we had planned.

Day 2(01/06/2017), we set out at 1a.m. in the morning after an hour of sleep for the three hours drive up Mount Batur for mountain climbing to catch the sunrise.

Before the trip, I would call it hiking but after the trip, I would name it hiking. I've done quite a few research and asked for quite a few opinions before I decided to take on the challenge to climb up there. Never did I know that I shouldn't have just listened to my aunt when she said that it was an easy climb because it was not at all. For someone who is afraid of heights like me, Mount Batur is not as easy to climb at all! No ! The whole mountain was filled with slippery sand and rocks and high rocks and more high things !! I can clearly remember halfway up and I already wanted to give up. It was so bad I couldn't catch my breath and I wanted to vomit. After the halfway break, although I continued to climb, I still wanted to give up. I asked for countless rest time... but every time I rested I told myself, hey I'm already up halfway through, if I give up now am I bound to give up the rest of my life? No! I am not..so I can do it. and continued to move on. And of course not forgetting my friend who never let my hands go throughout the whole climb as I was really scared. I guess I almost broke her fingers because every time I am afraid of falling I squeezed her hands real hard. I guess it was a good choice to go with friends who are there for you and not leave you alone when you almost wanted to give up! I am really thankful to have them with me through the trip! However, after countless times of wanting to give up and resting non stop, we got up! Up at the top of Mount Batur!! And I never regret the view up there.. that sun up there... the freshness up there! It was all just so great that I never regret not giving up! But one sad thing was that it was too cloudy couldn't witness the whole sunrise process. But still, NO REGRETS!!!

We then went for the highlight of our trip, massage and spa!!! Massage and Spa after tediously climbing the mountain! It was so good, for me.. my friends couldn't endure through because it was too cold for them as we had the peppermint massage and body scrub and one of my friend wasn't feeling well. So a lesson we learnt from this massage experience, never take peppermint when you are not feeling well because it will make you feel extremely cold and not feel good. We then had dinner after massage. Ayam pent!!

I guess it's a must when you are in Indonesia!! But it still cannot be compared to the one at Batam! But it was good dinner. Then once again, on our way back, we dropped by the supermarket to get snacks. And that marks the end of our day 2.

Day 3 was a little more relaxing.. We had water rafting in the morning and ended around afternoon... So the activity was called white water rafting and I literally thought that the water is like clear white water, but apparently not. The water is just plain river water.. muddy and not so clean. hahahah!

However, the whole rafting process was awesome and we get to share our boat with a Korean couple who is so friendly. We had fun throughout the 1 hour journey.

After the rafting ended, we had to climb a very huge long flight of stairs up to the vehicle to return to our belongings at the shop. That flight of stairs was very torturing but definitely a good form of exercise. After washing up and having our lunch which was included in the water rafting package, we continued the rest of our days..

We went shopping at Ubud Market where we get to see all the local stuffs, the handmade dreamcatchers and other local Bali art. We bought quite a few number of clothes but didn't really take a lot of time cause we knew what we wanted to get and we are not really the type who shops. Just looking around and stuff. (The 800GSD includes our shopping !)

Afterwhich, we then went to get dinner at the Jimbaran Beach Club! Dinner with sunset! Just imagine how amazing was that.. that dinner was a bit costly, but the view was definitely worth it. We had seafood and some alcohol with the sunset by the beach. It was so so so so good!

And back we go...and once again, as you guessed it, supermarket time ! Snacks and drinks and back to the villa! (I swear, most of our money spent on this trip was at the supermarket!)

Day 4 was even more relaxing. We only did one activity and that was snorkelling.

Like I said because we are so lucky throughout the trip, we were so damn lucky to get a free diving session. Our snorkelling trip was only supposed to be 30 mins but we snorkelled for 40 mins thereabout and yet, the people are so nice they did not call us up at all! they just let us stay in the water as long as we wanted. And then came some divers who gave us their oxygen mask and told us that they will dive us down to get closer to the fishes ! It was a short but definitely a worth it experience. The best thing was that we never expected to meet such nice people!

After our snorkelling, we then went back to the villa to wash up before heading to the hair salon and my friend did her hair while I did my two new tattoos there! The coincidence was that the hair salon stylist was our driver's wife and my tattoo artists was the driver's cousin! So we had a very good price for my friend's hair with 3 different colours and both my tattoo! Although my friend's hair did not turn out as expected, my tattoo was definitely worth it! I had two tattoos done and the cost of these two tattoos was the cost of one tattoo that I get here in Singapore! It was so freaking cheap and the quality was also as comparable as the quality of that I did in Singapore ! Definitely recommend to do in Bali instead, and I would definitely return to do it in Bali if I wanted another one.

After everything was done, it was almost night and we headed to dinner at some street stall and went back to rest after that.

So technically, we are gradually having a very relaxing holiday.

On the last day, we went beach hopping and just had fun relaxing all the way till we checked out at 11pm. All the beaches were just so nice and makes us feel so relaxed.

After our beach hopping, we went to about 3 beaches.. and then we returned back to our villa at about 7 plus 8pm to prepare and get ready for check out. We then spent our last night at the airport as our flight was at 7am and had to check in at 5am..

And this was what happened for my adventures at Bali, Indonesia!
